Welcome to What's Edible
Food has been, for me, a guide of passion and communication. Through cooking I have been able to travel the world, make new connections, experience new cultures and the different processes to create inspiring dishes.
Food is a language and if you can speak it you can go anywhere. I have had the pleasure to cook in some of the most beautiful parts of the world, such as Chile and Costa Rica. You can learn a lot about a person just by having breakfast with them. They might cook the same dishes you might cook, but it's about the process and care behind how they do it.
For me, it started when I was making Blintzes with my Grandma Phyllis, and I saw the care and passion she had for such a simple dish. Not to mention I was hungry and I wanted to help hurry up the process. It was great to learn from someone who cared so much and put so much love into her cooking. While realizing she also had to have learned it from someone to be able to make such a dish. I remember her showing me how to pour out the batter into the pan, not too much, just enough. How to flip them and how to keep an even golden brown around the blintze. All these tiny steps made me realize how big each step really was to completing a delicious meal.
With that being said, I would like to take the time to be your proverbial Grandma Phyllis. Within this website we'll discuss lifestyle, fitness, kitchen tips and overall how to maintain a health conscious mind. In a conscious mind, it's easier to maintain a healthier lifestyle rather than treating it like a chore or a consequence. This website is based on how I personally learned through my own exercise, my own travel, experience and the way I wanted to feel. If you eat a bag of potato chips your going to feel like a bag of potato chips. That's why taking the time to learn about your body and your mind you'll be able to accomplish anything.
P.S. For now, I'm working on getting a portfolio up to show you all some of the work I've been doing, and the recipes I've been creating. Over the next month be sure to look out for my weekly recipe, and a blog that will help you tap into a new food and cooking awareness.
